A day with Bob's mom

Bob's mom, Brenda, came to spend the day with us today. It was good times. We went down to Lake Superior and walked along the shore. We found a bunch of cool rocks...Brenda is big into rocks for turning into art and Bob is into finding some for his aquariums.

After the rock search we ran to the bread store. Bob and I were introduced to the most amazing bread ever!!! 'Popeye' Bread. It's spinach, onion, red pepper and parmesean cheese. SO GOOD!!! Brenda is so sweet! She bought us TWO loaves of 'Popeye' bread and shared half a loaf of Cinnamon Chip bread with us...she also bought us delicious Oatmeal Cookies! She's the best! : )

After the bread experience (which we need to call it an experience because the bread was so amazing!) we went to the Grill for dinner. We had the Buffalo Tofu Strips for an app...amazing as always. Bob tried a chicken and avacado sandwich...the sprouts they put on it took the sandwich over and he said you could barely taste the avacado. Brenda tried the Spicy Thai Pasta...it was really spicy I guess! I ordered the Buffalo Tofu Melt...it was way more gooey than normal, it was still good tho!

After dinner we went to the liquor store and built our own 6-packs. Brenda went home with two 6-packs and Bob and I went home with one 6-pack and a case of Miller Lite : )

Now Bob and I are just hanging out relaxing...I am exhausted again today. All the time in the sun and walking on the sand and rocks and such just wore me out! I was tired even before all that. If it weren't already 8pm I would take a nap! We thought about going to a movie tonight, but I don't think that'll happen.

Looks like you had a lovely day.
That bread sounds awesome as well.
I tend to make my own bread, but I think I may have a go at making some similar to the one you brought, with the spinach.
much love

I was totally thinking we should try to make a similar kind of bread!!! MUCH cheaper that way! I ran out of bread flour a while ago...maybe this will be my motivation to go get more :)

You will be pleased to know that I have had a go at this bread.
Now I had a packet of seed and grain bread flour for my bread maker or for hand baking, so I then made it up,via the hand baking method and tossed in all the other ingredients on a wing and a prayer, a little bit of this, maybe a bit more of that.

The result was brilliant and went down very well with the family.
I encourage you to have a go, you will be happily surprised.
I'm off camping for two weeks soon and I am in charge of the 1st nights meal for over 30,and will be making this bread to go with a chicken liver pate, the two go so nicely together.

So don't be shy, have a go and let me know how you got on.
Much love
