Bad response to a customer complaint...

This is the response I got when I complained to a company about one of their employees being rude to me and numerous other customers. Also, at one point, running into me like I wasn't even there (darn near knocking me over) while I was at their establishment without an apology, an oops, not even a look! I just wanted to post this because I am very annoyed with this response...

We all have had experiences where we haven't been very happy with the result. The Thirsty Pagan and staff try very hard to make every customer's experience worthy of a return visit. We do not always reach our goal.

With that said, we also try to make lemon aid out of lemons. We have already reviewed the night of your visit with the staff involved.

Thank you for helping us become a better place to visit. Please come visit us again. We believe that you will enjoy your visit much more.

...not even an apology!!! I didn't even get an apology for their employee almost knocking me over or for their rudeness! I have to say, I will not be returning to this place again. I am a very disappointed with them.

and p. s. stupid company...it's LEMONADE not lemon aid!

Everything but the kitchen sink pasta...

I was kind of stumped on what to make for dinner today.
I just started pulling stuff out of the fridge and decided to throw it into a pasta bake.
I grabbed some spinach, zucchini, squash, spaghetti sauce, black beans, chick peas, cheese and pasta.
350 degrees and 30 minutes later...
Voila!

Dinner!

It turned out pretty well. Aside from the fact that I spaced while preparing it and forgot to put any spices in it at all! : ( Major bummer. I sprinkled some garlic on top in a sad attempt to get some flavor in there.

Beth = amazing.

There is no other word for Beth...amazing is the only word for her!

Look how cute she made my hair!!

I will say though, this picture does not do it justice, I was just taking a quick photo to show a friend and thought I'd post a pic here too! It's styled a lot cuter than what it looks in this photo.

Tea Party Anyone?

My mom took my friend Vic and I out for tea on Saturday. We went to this lovely place called Aprille's Showers Tea Room.

The lovely view when you first walk in...

Mr. Frog, who welcomes you and showers your with info and pamphlets...

The lovely Miss Victoria enjoying tea, pinkie up and all...behind Victoria is the hat rack full of hats for you to try on and wear during your tea party.

They had sugar lumps, not cubes, lumps! It was so cute!
Even a tea pot warmer with a candle inside to keep your tea warm...
Cute little tea cups with tiny little spoons for dainty stiring.
Check out this fancy cup just for my blueberry iced tea!
Now on to the food...
To start we all had carrot ginger soup. So tasty!
Then there were croissant sandwiches. Yum!
After the sandwiches there were blueberry scones...they were so dang tasty we scarfed them down so quickly I didn't even get a picture!

Then it was dessert time! The little desserts for each of us! Mmm...

Before we went I was not a fan of hot tea at all...I will say that I did enjoy a few of the 5 different flavors that we tried. I cannot say that I will be going out and buying and hot tea to keep on hand at my house though, I didn't enjoy it that much! Haha.
Friday I got this sudden need urge to buy a fun chunky headband...
(I think the new haircut was calling for some hair bling.)
I was checking out etsy, hyena cart, target, walmart, any website I could think of.
I was just looking around and then it came to me.
Duh!!!
Make your own!
So, I looked into my stash of fabric and whipped out a cute flower and used a really cute button to finish it off.

I love the way it turned out!
What do you think?

-Me wearing it yesterday when we went for tea at a tea room. (will blog more about that next!)

I made a few more last night when I got home...

I wasn't doing so hot with the camera when I took these I guess!

Turbo Antioxidant Soup...

This soup = amazingness!

My mom had given me the recipe for this soup and I have to admit, I was scared at first. I didn't think there was any way I was going to like it.

I have it stuck in my head that I do not like sweet potatoes...even though I have had sweet potato fries and loved them, a sweet potato burrito and enjoyed it and now in this soup and loved it! You just have to try it! : )

Ingredients:

  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 medium onions, diced
  • 2 sweet potatoes, diced
  • 3 cans kidney beans, drained
  • 3 cans black beands, drained
  • 1/3 tsp oregano
  • two 32oz cartons of veggie broth (or chicken broth, if you must)
  • 2 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp ground cumin
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 4 packages spinach
  • 8 cups kale
  • 2 cups soy beans (or roasted chicken pieces, if you must)
  • diced red bell pepper
  • 1 tbsp parmesan cheese

Heat oil in large pot over medium-high heat. Saute oinions for 5 minutes. Stir in remaining ingredients, except red pepper, bring to a boil. Reduce heat, cover and lightly boil until sweet potatoes are soft (12-15minutes.) Taste and adjust seasonings. Garnish with red pepper and parmesan cheese before serving if desired.

This makes a lot of soup!!! I ended up adding a few more cups water because all of the ingredients wouldn't fit in the amount of broth provided. I didn't even get all my kale and spinach in because my large soup pot was full and just couldn't take any more! I also didn't have any oregano on hand so I simply left it out...still amazing! I ended up adding more salt to the pot of soup and actually to the bowls of soup as well.

Enjoy!
